created his first tattoo at age eleven, with a needle, thread,
and a bottle of india ink. Dan continued to practice tattooing
by this method until age seventeen when he learned how to make a
homemade tattoo machine. At nineteen, Dan entered Vesper George
School of Art in Boston, MA, which he attended for three years,
majoring in fine art. Dan finished art school in 1972, spent the
next twenty years or so tattooing underground, then began
tattooing in a studio in 1994.
With his background in fine art, Dan is a master at portrait
work, both black and gray and color. His natural style is
representational and photo realistic, but is comfortable with
all styles. Dan continues to grow as an artist, always striving
total perfection. He finds fulfillment in creating a perfect
tattoo for each client, and complete satisfaction from
practicing his art.
Chad joined Masterpiece in 2012, and has been tattooing
since 2008. Although previously tattooing, Dan put Chad
through additional training as an apprentice.
Chad is a graduate of both a two year Graphic Design
College as well as receiving his Bachelor's Degree in
Fine Arts from the Art Academy of Cincinnati.
Chad has mastered the art of fine line tattooing, and is
yet another rising star at Masterpiece. Chad loves to
tattoo regardless the design and takes great pride in
every tattoo that he does. When he's not tattooing Chad
can be found in his room honing his drawing skills and
creating new designs. With his friendly yet laid back
personality Chad puts customers at ease. He considers
being a tattoo artist as the best job in the world as he
loves meeting new people and putting his artistic skills
to good use!

in tattooing since he was about eleven years old, and

well developed flare for art, working in a variety of
mediums; oil, acrylic, pen and ink, graphite and
charcoal in addition to tattooing. He has a passion for
art in all its forms and mediums and is continually
expanding on his knowledge and expertise.
Adam has a quiet, respectful and humble manner which
puts customers immediately at ease. He also possesses an
uncanny ability to understand the idea a customer is
trying to convey for a custom design, and is able to
help formulate that idea onto paper and then to skin.
Although proficient in all styles, Adam especially
enjoys Japanese style tattooing. We are pleased to have
Adam as part of the Masterpiece team, and know that are
customers will as well.
